They've enjoyed only four such moments this season, including Nick Swisher's game-winning home run against Baltimore in the ninth inning Wednesday.

But they surely needed this one, avoiding their longest losing streak of the season (four games) and a potential sweep at home at the hands of the last-place Orioles.

"Was the whipped cream fresh? That was my question. We hadn't done it in awhile," manager Joe Girardi said.

Nick Swisher hit a two-run homer off Koji Uehara in the bottom of the ninth inning Wednesday to give the New York Yankees a 3-2 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. With the Orioles closing in on their first three-game sweep in the Bronx since 1986, Alex Rodriguez opened the ninth with a single on the first pitch from Uehara (1-1).
